The Academy for Peace and Development (APD) was established in 1999 as a research institute in collaboration with the War-torn Societies Project (WSP) International (now Interpeace).
The Academy’s Culture and Communication Department is a friendly and fast-paced environment with a small and talented team of various skills and backgrounds.
The APD Burao Satellite office is an extension of the services and activities provided by the APD Hargeisa office.
An intern at the Academy for Peace and Development Miss Alexandra Chen from Harvard University has shown warmth gratitude during her stay at APD. Alexandra has been at APD for a period of two months from February to April 2012 and has conducted a research paper about Child Protection in Somaliland.
