Changes at the APD Board of Directors

During the meeting of the APD Board on 19 May 2007, the Chairman Dr. Adan requested from his colleagues in the Board to be relieved from the post of the Chairmanship in the light of a planned joint project between his organisation, Progressio, and the Academy. He sought to be be replaced in order to avoid a potential conflict of interests. The Board accepted Dr. Adan's request with reluctance.

Asmahan Abdisalan Hassan was unanimously elected to replace Dr. Adan as Chairlady of the Board of the Academy for Peace and Development.

During another Board meeting on the 23 May, the APD Board agreed that Mohamed Omer Hussein would serve as the new Deputy Chairman and Saeed Ahmed Mohamoud as the new Secretary of the Board.
