Agreement on Electoral Timetable and Voter Registration signed
During a ceremony at Maansoor Hotel on October 11,
2007, representatives of Somaliland's political parties ceremoniously
signed their agreement on the timetable for the upcoming voter registration
and the local and presidential elections. We are documenting the
text of the agreement below.

Collective Agreement
In a meeting that the National Electoral Commission (NEC) and leaders
of the three national parties had on 7/10/2007 at the NEC headquarters,
following points have been agreed:
- The timeframe for the [voter] registration should be concluded
on 10th June 2008.
- The local election should be held on 1st July 2008.
- The presidential elections should be held on 31st August, 2008.
- Anything that hinders the above-mentioned tasks should be resolved
collectively.
