Working Group Meeting of the Land-based Conflict Project


The research team of the Academy for Peace and Development held their first Working Group meeting of the second project phase (of 2008) at Imperial hotel on May 26.

The objective of the working group meeting was:

  1. To define the scope and specific priorities of the research for the second phase 2008.
  2. To consult with group members to provide essential guidance of the research.
  3. To have representative views of the stakeholders on the topic.

Mohamed Abdi, the Team leader of the project, explained the importance of the project. He briefly explained the difference between the forerunner project phase, one which extended July-Dec 31 2007 and the current phase which will continue till 31st of Dec, 2008.

He also appreciated that the members contributed and brainstormed ideas related to the topic.

Members also welcomed the ideas and activities of the project which they viewed as necessary and important to help the society and the government to achieve a common strategy to address land-based conflicts.
