APD and Progressio Host a New Book Launching Event

A new Book titled “Becoming Somaliland” was launched at Mansoor Hotel in an event hosted by Progressio and Academy for Peace and development on 10th of June.

The book was written by Mark Bradbury, an expert in Horn of Africa and as well as a development consultant who has worked extensively in North East Africa.

The book explores how Somaliland has been able to achieve democratization in a politically volatile region.

Dr Adan Abokor, Progressio Country Representative made a brief autobiographical introduction about the writer before Dr Mohamed Osman Fadal presented it.

A Forty-minute new documentary film on Somaliland’s reconciliation and reconstruction processes recently produced by APD has also been screened in the event.

Finally The book was distributed freely to a number of civil society organization, Somaliland universities, ministry of foreign affairs, and other important figures.
