Gender Sensitization Workshops in Togdheer and Sanaag Regions

APD’s Gender Research team conducted two sensitization workshops in Sanaag and Togdheer Regions on the 14 and 19 of June respectively.

More than thirty local women attended each of the workshops as they were the main target audiences. These workshop participants became well informed about APD programs, activities, and the possible community involvement in upcoming initiatives. Three gender researchers were facilitating both of the two workshops.

In addition to the sensitization workshop in Erigavo, Naima Abdullahi, one of the APD’s Gender Researchers held a similar workshop for the Youth in Erigavo, in lines with public participation. The workshop was centered on the democratization process and the youth’s role in the upcoming elections. The need for youth mobilization in community affairs was examined while also exploring civic duties of individuals
