New Film On Somaliland Peace Reconciliation Conferences Screened

The Culture and Communication Department of APD screened a new documentary film at Mansoor Hotel on 10 July.

The forty-minute film “Peace building in Somaliland: an Indigenous Approach to State-building” covers the three peace and nation building conferences in Burao, Ceerigaabo and Borama .

This film contributes to the research of the Academy for Peace and Development on Peace mapping and is complementary to a written report.

This film addresses some of the key lessons learned from peace processes in Somaliland after the end of the civil war in 1991.

This night-event were attended by more than three hundred guests from the wider different societies of Somaliland including; religious leaders, traditional elders, eminent political figures, foreigners, youth, women etc.

A panel of five persons including the film researchers, and characters were responsible to response back to the audience’s questions and feedbacks.
