The Third General Assembly of APD

The Third General Assembly of APD was held in Ambassador Hotel and went on for one day on the 31/7/08. It was attended by 30 participants. The total list of the General Assembly members are 51 and most of them were away and out of Hargeisa. The GA
had a brief Agenda of: Reporting by the BOD and Management, Review and
amendment of the Statute.

APD Adminstration And Finance Officer Presenting Management Report

At most some Articles were lightly amended. Article: 1.1 stated that
the APD was registered on 1st January 1999 which was changed to 15th
September 1998. Article: 2: The Vision Statement was inserted:
"Sustaining Peace and Promoting Development". Article: 7 on
Periodicity: instead of every year the GA will be convened in every two
years. Article: 11, the BOD will be proposed both from and outside the
GA. And other minor changes of the Statute.

The Following BOD was elected:

2. Abdi Ahmed Nur (Abdi-Gurey): FOPAG,
3. Ismail Muse Nur: NEC,
4. Husein Abdillahi Handulle: Burco University former Dean,
5. Kinzi Husein Qowdan: NEGAD,
6. Hinda Mohamed Jama: Burco University,
7. Weli Da'ud Cigal: Friends of the Academy,
8. Zeinab Ibrahin Jama: Penha, friends of the Academy,
9. Abdillahi Gahayr: giant businessman, main shareholder of Buco soap factory.

The GA was chaired by Mohamed Osman Fadal who was elected by the GA at the beggining of the meeting.
